Classroom
Minnesota Permit to Carry/Renewal - Expect to spend at least four hours in the classroom for the Minnesota Permit to Carry. You will receive a student packet to follow along with the presentation. We encourage you to ask questions and provide input into the class experience.
After the classroom session, the law requires that all permit candidates must pass a shooting proficiency test. You will be evaluated on proficiency and safe handling of the handgun.
Utah Permit to Carry - If you have taken your Minnesota Permit to Carry with Rusty, you are eligible for a reduced fee. You will receive handouts on the Utah Permit to Carry, Minnesota Permit to Carry and North Dakota Permit to Carry Laws, a resource disk with additional information, and other supporting documents. This four hour+ class will have additional information on the Minnesota Permit to Carry and the North Dakota Permit to Carry. You will have hands-on weapons familiarization in the class room with Rusty's handguns and training ammunition. We will roll your fingerprints, take your passport photo, make a copy of your drivers license and notarize your application in the classroom to assist you in completing the application process.
North Dakota Permit to Carry - North Dakota requires the applicant successful complete a 10 question open book test (one hour to complete) prior to applying for the 3 year permit. You will be provided with the North Dakota Permit to Carry Manual in the classroom. You can download the North Dakota Permit to Carry manual prior to the class.

What Should I bring to Class?
Positive attitude on firearms and safety.
A handgun that you are competent with (no single action cowboy style) - Minnesota/Utah only
50 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloads) - Minnesota/Utah only
Extra magazines for your semi-automatic handguns - Minnesota/Utah only
If you do not have access to a handgun for the Minnesota/Utah qualifying, we will make available at no cost, the use of a .22 semi-automatic, .38 revolver or a .9mm semi-automatic. Just bring the required amount of ammunition.
Please Note!
Do not bring your handgun or ammunition into the classroom - please keep them secured in your vehicle.
Safety at the range is our highest priority - failure to comply will result in failing the course.
Minnesota Permit to Carry: $100.00 - This course includes student material, 1 yr NRA Liberty Membership, book on Legalities of Permit to Carry in Minnesota, range fee and target. Does not include fee to local Sheriff.
Utah Permit to Carry: $100.00 - Includes training material, 1 yr NRA Liberty Membership, fingerprinting, passport style photo, notary services, copy of Driver's License range fee and target. Does not include $65.25 fee to State of Utah.
Utah Permit to Carry for returning students: $70.00 - offered to returning students who have already taken the Minnesota Permit to Carry offered by Rusty (please bring certificate) or takes the Minnesota/Utah Combination. Includes training material, 1 yr NRA Liberty Membership, fingerprinting, passport style photo, notary services and copy of Driver's License. Does not include $65.25 fee to State of Utah.
North Dakota Permit to Carry Price: $30.00 for Testing (1 hr) and $5.00 fee for photo services. Does not include $25.00 fee to State of North Dakota.
